The last two weeks in Thailand has been spell bounding with the introduction firstly 3 months ago with people having to apply for their passports firstly in Hong Kong and then it changed to applying direct to Liverpool which created all sorts of problems and delays and guess what it has now changed again but there is nothing new about the British Government keeping us Brits on our toes.

As from the 26th March 2014 all UK passport renewals or Thai babies fort UK passport applications have to be applied for in person through there Global partners the VFS Global located in Bangkok.

So no more using agents to do the job for you it has to be done in person in Bangkok and the address is as follows in Wattana Bangkok

From 31 March 2014

So the procedure now is as follows

Firstly you have to make an appointment via an e-mail to the VFS in Bangkok

Then you wait for the appointment, in the meantime you download the application form OS and the credit card form from following link

You fill in the forms and Copy all the documents required as published on the British Embassy website

You take your application, documents, appointment sheet and original documents to the VFS Global in Wattana who will check the documents are correct

Then they will send to Liverpool passport office located in Old Hall road Liverpool were your passport will be processed

The new passport will then be returned only to the VFS Global office in Bangkok were you will get a telephone call to go and collect your passport they will not send

You must take your old passport as identification to collect the passport

You must check the documents required first from the website of the British Embassy Bangkok before traveling or you could be making a wasted journey.
