I recently lost my Thailand bank account book. I went to my bank with my passport and they said that I had to go to the police station before they could give me a replacement bank book, what do they mean?

If you lose your Thailand bank account book it is a similar procedure if you lose your passport, you have to go to your local police station and make a report that you have lost your bank book.
The police will then provide you with a police report. Yuo then must take the police report and your passport to the bank and they will replace your bank book.
This is also the same if you lose your Thai driving license, a police report is needed before a new Thai driving license will be issued.
