Parents cannot be a sponsor.
Your embassy will not allow a friend or family member like your brother, sister or parents to be the sponsor for your Thai girlfriend. The embassy will not grant a visa for a Thai friend.
They will consider a visa if the sponsor is a Boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. If you are on benefits it may be impossible to get a Settlement visa and will make it more difficult to get a tourist visa.
Your parents or a family member can be the accommodation sponsor, that is to say that you reside with them and your Thai girlfriend will be staying with you in their home. No matter what, you have to be the sponsor for your girlfriend or wife.
