Can my Thai wife take the English language test in the UK

Categories: Clients Questions Answered Tags:

Hi Richard,

Sorry about not contacting you back sooner, but there was a mix up with

interpretation / interpreter over the VISA length of stay application.

I’m now back in England and want to as you suggested carry on for my wife’s 2 year UK Settlement VISA.

Can my Thai wife take the English language test in the UK

Do I understand right that she can take English test / tests with this VISA in England?

In theory she should pass these by the time a 2 year settlement VISA is coming for

renewal ? Is this possible?

Or would you recommend going for an ILR (indefinite leave to remain)?

I have left / deposited some BAHT already in my wife’s married name before I left back for England.

I have sent a request so that we can talk to get the ball rolling name is. Can you e-mail a time either

English or Thailand time when it’s convenient to talk on Skype Richard.

Answer Can my Thai wife take the English language test in the UK

Hi Ken

The English language test needs to be taken and passed prior to the Settlement visa application being made. To put it another way. If your wife hasn’t passed the English language test, you can not apply for the visa.

The test has to be carried out in Thailand, however the test is marked in the UK and the results sent back to Thailand.

After your wife has been issued the visa and lived in the UK for 2 years, then she can for the “Indefinite leave to remain”. But this cannot be applied for in Thailand.

To start the process with us, we require a deposit of 5,000 Baht. You can pay that via paypal here

or you can visit our office

Kind regards

Richard
