I would like to find out what time space i need to apply for visa for girlfriend/fiancée to come to UK from Thailand and how much will it cost.. Can I apply for the visa in England or does my Thai girlfriend need apply in Bangkok?

After a visa application is made it take

• 12 working days to get a response for a tourist – holiday visa
• Roughly 3 months to get a response for a settlement – fiancée visa

The application has to be made in Bangkok; your girlfriend will have to attend at least one appointment, (if a tourist visa) and three appointments if a applying for a fiancée of settlement visa.

We find that it normally takes a sponsor, ie you the British partner about 3 – 5 months to get all of the information together which you will need to provide as the sponsor. Part of what we do is help you understand what is required from you and from your partner.
